Comedian and moderator Ellen DeGeneres, successful presenter of Oscars will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place on September 4 and will have as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel, another American filmmaker of talk shows, internationally known. The star that will be dedicated to Ellen will be 2477 on the Walk of Fame.

Ellen DeGeneres, the first star of American television which revealed live that is lesbian in 1997, will receive the most prestigious award on October 22 from comedy entertainment industry in the U.S. – Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2012. 15 years ago – shortly before the establishment of Mark Twain Prize – Ellen DeGeneres announced that she was a lesbian, posing on the cover of Time and live, on her sitcom “Ellen” in front of over 46 million viewers.

The popular TV show started to lose audience and was canceled a year later. DeGeneres said at that time that ABC was filled with fear and abandoned the show. American star has been criticized that she was “too gay” and has built her career by imposing a “gay agenda” in its broadcast schedule. Cancellation of the sitcom and the feeling of social rejection have prompted DeGeneres to develop a deep depression. Today, Ellen DeGeneres is happy wife of actress Portia de Rossi.

Sitcom “Ellen” opened the way for other programs but they managed to overcome taboos about gay characters. Thus arose “Will and Grace,” “Glee“, “Modern Family” and more. Ellen DeGeneres is back but in actuality roles in films and noted in animation “Finding Nemo”, the voice assured one of the main characters. Then she became the presenter of her own TV show – “Ellen DeGeneres Show” -, at the ninth season, wrote books that became bestsellers and was part of the jury show “American Idol”, which enjoys a wide audience.
