Formula 1 Champion Jackie Stewart wants to be portrayed by Ewan McGregor

Bill Pohlad, the producer nominated at Oscar in 2012 for the drama “The Tree of Life“, but which is responsible for “Brokeback Mountain”, “Into the Wild”, “The Runaways” or “Fair Game”, has proposed to make a biopic about the triple world champion John Young Stewart, better known by the name Jackie Stewart, who competed in Formula 1 in the interval 1965-1973 and during 1997-1999 it was owner of Stewart Grand Prix team together with his son Paul Stewart.

The movie does not yet have a title, focuses on the beautiful friendship between Jackie Stewart and his protégé François Cevert, the French pilot lost his life in an accident which took place on a circuit in the United States of America in 1973, legendary Formula One driver reading a first draft of the script, giving the project the green light and of which is very pleased and revealed to the journalists of The Sun that he would like to be portrayed on screen by the actor Ewan McGregor (40 years), which is not a surprise given that both are Scottish.

Nicknamed “Flying Scotsman“, Jackie Stewart is married to Helen in the early 60s, has two sons named Paul and Mark, the first was racing pilot, and the second is producing films and TV series, and was forced to dictate his autobiography because is suffering from dyslexia and he could not write one and is good friends with producer Bill Pohlad from 1971, saying the following about the biopic whose protagonist is:

“The relationship that I had with François was probably unique regarding that we was not only very good friends, but rivals who compete against each other even if we was part of the same team. This topic was selected by Bill, which is an excellent producer. He worked with some of the biggest stars and is a friend of mine. I know him since 1971. He wants to make this biopic and both fell agree.”
