While Kristen Stewart was kicked out of the franchise “Snow White and the Huntsman” because she had an affair with married director Rupert Sanders, her former boyfriend, Robert Pattinson has got an important role, said The Guardian. He will play Lawrence of Arabia in a biographical drama whose hero is Gertrude Bell, a woman who had a tremendous life experience in the Middle East came to be nicknamed “Queen of the Desert“. For Pattinson is one incredible opportunity, because the character has remained in movie history in “Lawrence of Arabia” in 1962 directed by David Lean, starring Peter O’Toole. O’Toole was nominated for an Oscar for this role.

The new movie screenplay is written by German director Werner Herzog and focuses on the story “female version of Lawrence of Arabia”, which was Gertrude Bell. Naomi Watts has signed on months ago to be the protagonist. Bell was a writer, traveling around the world, archaeologist, explorer, made maps and was politically attached to the British Empire in Syria, Mesopotamia, Asia, in the late 20th century. She was not a noble birth, but helped raising monarchs on the throne. Bell helped found the modern states of Iraq and Jordan and their first rulers – King Abdullah and King Faisal. Filming for “Queen of the Desert” is scheduled for this fall in Jordan and Britain.
