Assassin’s Creed 3 – AnvilNext engine in the foreground

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed III, this time dedicated to the new graphics engine used for this game – AnvilNext. With this proprietary technology, Assassin’s Creed III will benefit from very realistic animations (over 1000 new animations were registred for only the main character), outdoor huge naval battles, weather effects dependen of the season, over 2,000 NPCs in the same scene and more.

In Assassin’s Creed III, the hero will be Connor Kenway, or Ratohnhake’ton after Indian name, the son of a pilgrim and a British woman of the tribe of Mohawk Indians. The action will take place during the War of Independence but which led to United States (1753-1783). Again we have several areas to explore: cities Boston and New York, and The Frontier, a gaming environment that promises to be 1.5 times larger than Rome in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed III will be released on October 31, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, PC version is also expected later this calendar year. Date of occurrence for Nintendo Wii U edition has not been confirmed yet.
