Electronic Arts had a more modest presence in E3 2012. Besides the presentation of new games, EA has focused on digital distribution, focusing on the advantages of the opportunity to enrich the gaming experience through additional content services and packages. Electronic Arts Conference was opened by announcing the new Dead Space 3, title to be released in February of next year. The main novelty brought by Dead Space 3 is able to play cooperatively with a friend.
SimCity jumped then to the forefront, Maxis announced that not one but two titles in the series will be launched soon. First on the list is SimCity Society, an adaptation for social networks of the city’s famous formula builder. Players will receive SimCity enthusiasts, a true reboot the series, expected in February 2013. Next on the list was the new Battlefield 3 Premium service, of course dedicated shooter released last year by DICE studio. With a subscription to this service ($ 49.99), players will receive free access to all 5 DLC packs for Battlefield 3 (Back To Karkand, Close Quarters, Kill Armored, Aftermath and Endgame), new weapons and vehicles.
BioWare announced then that all those interested will have the opportunity to try free MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic since July this year. Players may bring their characters to level 15, for the sequel is necessary to acquire a subscription. Danger Close studio representatives have presented the mission of future Medal of Honor: Warfighter, the response to the threat coming from EA Call of Duty series. The game uses Frostbite 2 graphics engine and seems very similar to Battlefield 3.
There followed a segment dedicated to sports, Madden series will have an edition dedicated to social networks – Madden Society. FIFA 13 has not missed any successor, the most popular sports simulator of all time. The end portion dedicated game EA Sports has announced a new partnership with UFC, through which EA studios will deal with development and publication of official UFC games in the coming years.
