Although we are on the home stretch of the current generation of consoles and video game sales and hardware dedicated is continuously decreasing, two such units are against the current trend, posting record sales for 2012.

According to figures provided by Siliconera, the Japanese publisher has already shipped to retail outlets 4.5 million copies of the game, expecting sales of over 7 million copies by the end of March next year.

For comparison, the same intervals, Resident Evil 5 was delivered 4 million copies, recorded sales of 5.8 million copies. According to VGChartz, Resident Evil 5 totaled nearly 8 million copies sold to date. Resident Evil 6 has been released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
