The Halo games have been a huge hit and widely loved by both gamers and critics. Not only does the game take you on an epic mission to save Earth by batteling tough aliens, but it also features some intense multiplayer options that will keep you playing for months and months afterwards!
So far there have been seven total installments in the Halo series that were developed by Bungie and published by Microsfoft Studios. This first person shooter series is about to take a completely new turn with the release of Halo 4 however.
Halo 4 will be the eighth game in the series and will be published late next year by Microsoft Studios however the developer won’t be the traditional Bungie. In fact, 343 Industries will be taking over that role. 343 Industries is an American video game developer and was established by Microsoft Game Studios back in 2007.
So what is the game going to be about?
Well, you remember the ending of Halo 3 right? When Master Chief goes into a cryonic sleep after many thought he had perished in the battle. Just before Chief goes into sleep he leaves with a HUGE cliffhanger by saying to Cortana “wake me, when you need me.” If you remember that then you know without a doubt that Halo 4 will have both Cortana and Chief in it – and how could it not? Halo wouldn’t be Halo without Chief!
Unfortunately the main plot isn’t really known yet however the trailer depicts Chief being woken up by Cortana as she shouts for his help. Without missing a beat, Chief breaks out of his sleeping cell, takes Cortanas data stick and secures it, then goes to the edge of the broken ship that they were in only to be faced with a stunning sight; a massive ship was drawing the remains of Chief’s ship in. For some reason you get the feeling that Chief and Cortana aren’t going to be greeted with cheering and flowers, instead you sense an ominous threat that is much bigger than any Chief has ever faced before.
