Hard Reset try to have a story, the game’s main character is Fletcher, a soldier of human corporate who must defend the Bezoar city from the robots threat. The thread of events is reported through a series of animated cartoons, which runs between levels. Moreover, the story does not make much sense and ends just as it began to become something more interesting. However, the narrative does not matter in this game; a possible lack of cinematic sequences does not affect in any way the true strengths of Hard Reset. In short, no matter the reasons or purpose, but the eliminating all enemies on the screen, as in the good old days of Doom or Quake.

The sets where the action takes place in the Hard Reset is closely linked with the arsenal itself, Flying Wild Hog paying a particular attention to eliminate the opponents with objects placed in the environment. So often, a well placed bullet in an electric circuit or an explosive barrel have more effects than wasting ammunition against a large group of enemies. In addition to eliminating enemies, blowing up objects of decoration has the gift to reveal many secret locations, which can not normally reach.

And, eventually leaving aside the actual gameplay, Hard Reset explosions have a therapeutic effect, the explosion of almost all structures of the first level of the game or demolition of the entire wall with railgun’s proving to be very a relaxing way to spend your time. Unfortunately, the fun does not last very long; the campaign from Hard Reset can be carried out successfully, the average level of difficulty, in about 5-7 hours. But if you taking into account the increased difficulty of the game, is not accessible to those who have experience with old school shooters, the game time may increase depending on individual abilities.
