Rockstar games has been fairly busy lately with the upcoming 2012 release of the much anticipated Grand Theft Auto Five, however the other games they are working on, despite being in the shadow of the GTA game, should also receive some recognition.
Max Payne 3, which was set to be released in 2009, was pushed back several times and many loyal fans feared the worst: that the game would eventually be put on hold indefinitely or worse yet be cancelled. After years of waiting, fans were finally given their first glimmer of hope; a trailer.
The trailer was released earlier this year on September 8, 2011 and it depicts some surprises for gamers. Not only is the game somewhat abandoning the LA Noire like graphics, but it is also showing the main character, Max himself, as a much older and more weary man.
You can watch the official game trailer from the Rockstar Games website here: http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/#/?video=7751
Rockstar also was gracious enough to show some screenshots of the game.
So what is the storyline of this new Max Payne video game going to be?
Sam Houser from Rockstar Games says that the game will feature Max Payne in his later years. To quote him directly “This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever.” In a press release it was stated that the game will follow Max after he left New York City, which is about eight to twelve years after the second Max Payne game. Max finally settles down in São Paulo, Brazil where he works in security for a rich family. However, Max is betrayed in this city and he sets out trying to find the truth about what really happened.
