SF action “Oblivion“, called at a time “Horizons“, will be released in North American theaters on April 26, 2013, directed by Joseph Kosinski is based on a scenario in which successively contributed William Monahan, Karl Gajdusek and Michael Arndt and has on the poster Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Zoe Bell and Will Forte.
Produced by Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Barry Levine, Duncan Henderson and Joseph Kosinski and inspired graphic novel with the same title creator Arvid Nelson, “Oblivion” places the action in an apocalyptic future where planet Earth is irradiated and uninhabitable as following the invasion of alien races, and people have built cities above the clouds.
“Oblivion” is described as an original and innovative film event and a worthy successor of SF “TRON: Legacy” directed by the same Joseph Kosinski, filming took place in the U.S. and Iceland and have been used film cameras capable of recording 4K-resolution video.
Studio Universal Pictures released the first official synopsis, which was taken by journalists from Collider.com and reads: “On a spectacular future Earth that has regressed so much that is impossible to recognize, confront one man the past will involve a journey of redemption and discovery, as the man struggles to save humanity.
Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is one of the last remedy of drones stationed on planet Earth. Being part of a major operation vital resource extraction, after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as Scavs, Jack’s mission is almost complete.
Living and patrolling with breathtaking clouds and are thousands of miles above, there’s full of momentum is affected when Jack saves a beautiful stranger (Andrea Riseborough) from a wrecked spaceship. Its arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything you know, Jack having their hands the fate of humanity.
