The news that The Avengers will have a sequel came as a natural thing, after meeting the heroes of the Marvel Universe set new records in terms of revenue and the equally delighted both critics and movie-goers. Joss Whedon returns both as a writer and as a director for this second part, but I did not know until now how much we must wait to see them again together on Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and their nemesis, Loki.
Our patience will be tested almost 3 years since The Avengers 2 is released on May 1, 2015. Until then, Marvel Studios reward their fans with another comic-loving individual projects aimed destinies of the most beloved heroes: Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor.
First return to the big screen is Iron Man 3 – May 3, 2013. Tony Stark’s alter-ego will have to face in this second sequel to Firepower, Cooldblod and Mandarin – 3 redoubtable enemies. Mandarin will appear only in the background, recent rumors indicate that producers either keep it for the 4th part, it will be the main antagonist in The Avengers 2.
Nordic god of thunder continuing story will be entitled “Thor: The Dark World”, will be directed by Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”), will be the poster Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba and Ray Stevenson and will be launched on November 8, 2013. The title confirms what Kevin Feige has previously said to Empire Online journalists namely that “Thor 2″ will explore the dark side of the planet Asgard, suggesting a new direction for the evolution of the main character and the franchise development.
