There is nothing more annoying in the world than to discover a new band and engrave on the Internet after details about them, only to find no big deal. At the same time, you know how it feels the passion for music in the period before the Internet, known as the Stone Age.
At least, the boys from Childhood everything that had to do was to give on Google “myspace Childhood” and we found three songs. It is a bonus, a picture and names of two members of the band. After a thorough search, we find that the two, on their name Ben Romans-Hopcraft and Leo Dobsen, are from London and are students in Notthingam. Will we say, as an insignificant detail right now, because we doubt that we will see on a scene too early, as a live band grows to five people.
Although we do not know what they studying at university, we like to imagine as a movie. Or just that they are passionate about David Lynch, like the name of the song Blue Velvet. If you don’t believe, we have proof: the verse “I’ve never found a severed ear in the grass, never ever had a cigarette burn in the palm of my hand.” But that does not mean that Childhood music it is suitable for the soundtrack of a American filmmaker. Blue Velvet is a nostalgic pop song, full of fuzzy guitars and emotion and has some of the grungy charm of Yuck.
The remaining songs, few in number, not many have the same qualities. Beach dreamy pop, very nice light, which can be placed in the same folder as Nothing or Wild Beach Fossils and is indebted Jang typical Smiths and Felt pops. But the most important is the way in which, though not very elaborate, the music catches you immediately and do not leave until you stop another play.
