ICC posts further pressure on India

Indians have been pathetic travelers, and are going through a huge turmoil. Yet, their coffers have been pretty full, and their command over the way cricket is played almost incredible. A case in point is their continual refusal to let DRS have its say even though it is globally recognized. Think further: what if India disregards the ruling of wides and no-balls in matches featuring it!

Lord Woolf has been clear in his governing review, that no more would strong countries wield abnormal powers over weak ones and associates. Pakistan has meanwhile got a fresh piece of good news when Mohammed Amir got released after serving 3 months in jail, half of his 6-month sentence. One felt for his age and vulnerability!

Coming to India v/s Australia affair, India are scheduled to play one last T20 before getting into ODI business. Considering that Indians never were practically into the match, they will have to rethink strategies. It might be great to play both all-rounders Jadeja and Pathan, although it appears Jadeja will make way for Pathan. Pathan is more than useful batsman and bowler in T20, and was a revelation in his 1st tour in Australia, when he was compared to the legendary Wasim Akram.

Sehwag has to click for India to get the necessary momentum. Paltry run of ‘Prince of Najafgarh’ has been a death-knell for India, as none other can wreak such havoc as comes naturally to Sehwag. If possible, it would also be intelligible for Dhoni to promote himself.

Australia, on the other hand, has no worries and may try Clint McCay and Aaron Finch in the 2nd T20. The attention shifts to Melbourne from Sydney, and the pitch might be less-pace friendly to accommodate Indians. However, that they failed to conjure spirit against spinners in Sydney is another matter.
