This year, Christmas has come with all the blessings for Roberto Mancini, the manager of Mancheter City. In a whirlwind manna from heaven, all his investments have proved their worth in real gold, and City is rich enough to again go into a haul of new buy-outs.
They are currently leading Premier League, albeit, with just a victory margin from their neighbors Manchester United. Sir Alex Fergusson, legendary manager of United, is promising himself that City cannot buy the trophy through expensive purchases of eminent players. He is clearly ignoring the basic premise of what is making City click.
Mario Balotelli can be a troublesome kid off the block, and deal in fireworks at home, but he is a livewire on the field. So are Aguerro and Dzeko. Yet, most of their stupendous goals (City has score goals in a spree this season) have been masterfully created by David Silva. It needs mentioning that the exemplary midfielder was an integral part of Spanish triumphs in World Cup and Euro Cup.
Even Chelsea aren’t too behind and are expected to overhaul third placed Tottenham spurs to make this a three-way fight in Premier League. Ultimately, it will be the case of how smartly players are rotated so that they don’t burn off their shoes. In the end, it will be decided by the laidback or aggressive attitudes of respective managers. The new entries into different clubs this winter holds a significant but small edge of the cake, and Fergusson should realize that. He should moreover hope for his sake that Silva incurs a hamstring injury or turns ascetic midway. Credit has to be given to Mancini for the way he has handled his players.
This year there has been talks of racism and muck, but there has been great football. The case rests!
