Top Ten Action Games

Action games are significantly different than the other game genre’s because these games tend to focus more on challenges that have to deal with hand-eye coordination, reaction- time, and much more. There are many games that blur the lines between action/adventure/first person shooter games, but today we’ll look at the top ten games that are predominately action games.

10. Super Mario Galaxy

This Wii game definitely made many want to go out and purchase that console. It appealed not only to a much older generation, but also to the younger generation as well. Its simple design and cartoonish graphics make it all the more loveable as you go about jumping through your playground.

09. Shadow Complex

The game starts off in a deceiving manor and you quickly realize you’re the unwilling hero in the game who is forced to save his girlfriend and at the same time stop a group from destroying the government.  However it is a fairly short game and you’ll probably be quite annoyed by the enemy leader. All in all, it still pulls a solid nine on the top ten list.

08. L.A Noire

A great game that focuses more on detective work. It plays a lot of attention to facial features, allowing you to try and detect what the suspect (or witness) is thinking at the time. Unfortunately the rest of graphics are not up to par, but the game itself is truly great and definitely worth buying.

07.  Assassins Creed 1

This game steals a place in the top ten because it was truly an excellent and unique game. It took a world long before our time, and infused it with plenty of intrigue, as well as delivering great graphics and believable characters. The story line kept thousands of fans hooked and compelled them to buy the sequels.

06. Batman: Arkham

Thankfully this inst just a game that uses a popular name to get people to buy it, it actually is a great game that has all of the aspects that gamers (and Batman Fans) long for.

05. Prototype

This game allows you to become a monster, rampaging about the streets destroying at will. Your main character has a surprising array of powers, some of which are ‘too convenient’ but none the less, your killing spree will surely release any pent up frustrations you may have.

04. Assassins Creed 3

On top of your usual vaulting off towers and assassination of various characters, this game steals the second spot by using its unique and captivating storyline. Its shocking ending coupled with unique flashbacks and other various side quests, skyrockets this game to fourth place.

03. Tomb Raider: Underworld

With the bosses power amped up, this game features all of the maddening puzzles, complex levels, and cryptic messages you can want. To top it all off, it has the best graphics, by far, in the series

02. Metal Gear Solid 4

Nothing quite measures up to the end of Snake in the Metal Gear Solid Series. The nostalgia hits you as you start up the game but then you are completely immersed in the fantastic storyline and amazing graphics.

01. Grand Theft Auto 4

This is the first Grand Theft Auto to come out with updated graphics and allowed online game play so you could enjoy all the car stealing, police evading, and hooker killing you can handle.
