European movies present a special charm from the classic ones from Hollywood, so we decided to make a top 10 of the best European films made until now.
10. Agathe Cléry
Maybe not the best European movie, but I have already considered it a very original comedy. Agathe gradually realizes that her skin is increasingly close in color and must learn to go through discrimination because of her new colors and even getting a job. The subject is serious, but the film remains a successful comedy with musical elements plus a love story.
If you saw the movie, you can understand when I say I did not expect to see a different perspective on German secret police members. It may be that the evil has become, at a time when they are good justifications. The agent gets to follow the life of a couple: he’s a writer, she an actress. When the writer decides to write a story that regime certainly would not approve even would consider dangerous, the agent must make a decision whether to defend or not the writer.
08. The Concert
To be honest with you, I used a tissue during the view. Music does wonders, right? Same scene can bring father and daughter although they do not even know. In a so emotional story, original, how not to cry. I was glad to hear that the movie was nominated for Golden Globes, although, in my view would have to pass the nomination and even win it.
07. The Sea Inside
The film is based on a real case, that of Ramón Sampedro, a man who remains paralyzed at the age of 25 years, after an accident. He will spend his life fighting for his right to suicide assisted. Worth seeing, especially as we have Javier Bardem in the main role. A Spanish film that will not disappoint you.
06. Moscow does not belive in tears
It is a funny movie. What do you make when you stay in a girl’s college? How you get to relate with boys, especially in the Soviet Union? Moscow does not belive in tears is talking about friendships for life, of youthful hopes. I need to express my preference for character Vera because she shows courage.
05. Persepolis
An animated film that will impress you. Persepolis tells the story of a young rose in Islamic fundamentalist environment. Is a movie of dualism that gives more thought discussion and topics that will recommend to see it soon if you have not already. The film was nominated for an Oscar and received a César Award in the category of onset.
04. Volver
Mother is a ghost. She even lives with her family as she would still be alive or so it seems for some of the characters from the film. Things are more complicated, based on director Pedro Almodóvar reveals a world of abuse, of tangled family ties that Raimunda (Penelope Cruz) will do gradually. It’s a kind of dark comedy that will recommend you to see if you want to try something exciting from Spanish cinema.
03. The Ghost Writer
I liked the film because around it were hovering a series of conspiracy theories. They say that the story behind the film, specifically behind the novel that led to the film is more than true. Ewan McGregor is in the film the ghostwriter hired to write the memoirs of former British Prime Minister played by Pierce Brosnan. Writing memoirs of a character accused of murder, with a life that holds many secrets, is not easy.
02. The Full Monty
The Full Monty was one of the comedies that I reviewed so many times, I admit, I thought it was funny to see some men put in a position to get rid of all inhibitions, the challenge of doing striptease. One of my favorite scenes is where Dave is wrapped in a plastic branches and eat a diet bar that shows that men resort at all sorts of ways to look better.
A classic (as plot). I know that when I read the book I could not hand it down, I was heavily involved in the relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. The love Overcome barriers of class… beautiful! As for the film, I’m not disappointed, especially with Keira Knightley in the main role, I can say that I lived about a half of the emotions that I experienced reading the book of Jane Austen.
