At what we think when we talk about the movies with pets? When Ted Brooks, a dentist in Miami, finds that his natural mother died and his name appears in the will, he travels to Alaska to claim the inheritance. Instead of large amount of money that anyone would expect it, Ted gets the mother property and the band of sled dog. Although the dogs do not really seem to like him, Ted decides to keep them and compete in local race called the Arctic Challenge. What follows is a detailed comedy of his adventure.

Janeane Garofalo plays the role of Dr Abby Barnes, the host of radio show “The truth about cats and dogs”, which draws the listener with her sweet voice and personality. The listener, Brian, try to know Abby from the radio, but Noelle, played by Uma Thurman, is mistaken with her. Instead of clarifying things, Abby allows her best friend, Noelle (a tall and beautiful blonde) to keep her place for a while. Abby, takes upon herself the coined name Donna, thinking that Brian can never please a short brunette who is considered unattractive. While the “true” Abby delight Brian on the radio and telephone, Noelle, takes her place in the real life.
