Now we are going to present a list of movies that generally have not pleased the female audience. Whether scenic testosterone and visual slop either lines or situations shown are more or less misogynistic, the movies selected aimed primarily a male imaginary. I must say here that the films were not chosen by a criterion value.
10. Robocop
At first viewing, the film makes use of male model behavioral faults hidden in the deepest corner of the subconscious. All the boys want to be invulnerable and kill hordes of spectacular enemies with a pistol equally spectacular. Robot vigilante attitude is also on flavor of “erotic” uber public dreams. Robocop is cool, fearless, serious and grim. As a small add, the film is actually a social satire with a mask of B-movie.
09. Wild Things
It is enough to see the two actresses strutting languid in front of us to figure out why this movie is appreciated by men. Not worth discussing on this topic, because everything is clear. Men want to see beautiful women, perverse and ultimately dangerous. Imaginary cock pulsing with excitement every time appears “vamps” on screen. The rest does not matter. The film is an excuse for a show of erotic suggestion.
08. Blood Sport
The film is brutal, Van Damme is macho, know to fight, trembling of inner drama, is vindictive and unforgiving. Most men want to be experts in various martial arts, and everyone dreams use in public contexts full of nerve and moral legitimacy. A split punches and kicks to women are like a dance ostentatious courtship in the most primitive way possible.
07. Alien
This film is quite ambiguous in terms of target audience. Alien monstrosity is pretty disgusting and cruel, decorations and lights cloister cool music effects and tense. So far the film can be tasted by both sexes, with the balance tilting towards men. On the other hand, the main character is a woman, which makes the process of identification with the hero not work for men. But Ripley is quite masculine in behavior. Do not fall into hysteria, not crying uncontrollably and do not leave until she kill the monster.
06. The Terminator
Too many shots and too many critical circumstances make this film to be one for men, which does not mean that women can experience a sci fi action. The film is too technical and too formal. The Terminator is a film in which technology turns against man in spectacular fashion. Certainly bang and exploded sets dislike girls.
05. The Godfather
Here’s a movie that could spark some controversy regarding fitting it into a category. Francis Ford Coppola directed a great movie. We stated above that the true artistic value does gender differences, but if this film must recognize that exaggeration of male characters is sufficiently suggestive. Underworld mobsters are the world of men. The family is actually a para-military community, with codes obstructions and specific masculine.
04. Saving Private Ryan
If in the film signed by Coppola we remembered of a label for military mafia clan, Spielberg’s film is unequivocal in this regard. It’s a war movie, no matter how valuable it would be for artistic achievement still remains a cultural product that specifically targets a male audience. War looked great on a canvas is epic. Only a man could be considered as the most effective way to represent the ideal of human excellence is an act of bravery in war.
03. American History X
This drama centered on dehumanizing influence of a group of neo-Nazis on a young life angry and disgusted with American society is too violent and hard to please the female audience. Sometimes there is no appeal to the male. Violence is neither stereotyped represented here nor cool, is simply sectarian violence, power and effect of hatred and intolerance. What makes this film have a greater intake in men is the opportunity which offers for men to identify with Edward Norton’s character and multiple hells going through with it.
02. Fight Club
Boys want from time to time to derail the social order and they do it through violence. Here’s a mediocre movie man who wants to escape the vicious circle of its existence harmless and dreams make it spectacular and appeal to women. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt are Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, the two opposing identities co-exist in a man’s head. Who is or is believed to be the one who really wants to be. Add to this equation street violence and anarchic tendencies and will result in a movie man.
01. Matrix
Leaving now the narrative part and charm that are releasing this technology dependent world, Wachowski brothers have created a perfectly dosed film: enough action with spectacular bang-bangs, enough fihgting that leaves you gaping and SF scenes made with sufficient high professional and artistic sense.
