It happens, and not only at “Titanic” – why do you wake up at the end of the film with the set of napkins soaked in tears? You not necessarily cry because the movie is a “tearjerker”. Here are the top movies that left deep furrows in my memory – the main note being that of fatality: physical death, emotional, love or justice.
10. Ghost
The love of Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze lasts defiant in the face of death, through a medium that facilitates communication. But no details of comic or quasi-thriller situation EASC have any chance against the link between worlds, and the film remains in the mind due to scenes of love – love without barriers that can not ever be.
09. Steel Magnolias
Probably all time favorite for the notorious sentimentalist, the film is brimming estrogen, and begins innocently enough… until the writer decides to condemn at bed and female staff compassion on Julia Roberts, compared with the most radiant smile in Hollywood.
A visual spectacle due to sequences occurring in the Heaven and Hell, the film distributes the comedian Robin Williams in the role of the lover, crossing all the obstacles from his way to regain his wife – both dead of bad heart, they remain lost in the beyond world, where the pain of losing children finds solace only in finding soul mates.
07. The Green Mile
The road of the prisoner John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan) from an existing life-giving and death by execution to take place between prison walls, who witness the miracles performed by the child-minded man, but the insinuation was in the souls of all those touched by his simple kindness.
06. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape
Johnny Depp and Leo DiCaprio plays the roles of brothers, the first family’s Atlas, the weight of the world behind – an obese mother, left behind a brother and a future without any light at the end of the tunnel, all you push on Gilbert, and we tend to cry for the Endor’s people compassion, all equally.
Winning an Oscar in the main role, Hillary Swank excites us to tears with a strength of character manifested in the boxing ring and outside it, while Clint Eastwood pinches heart strings gently veiled with a capacity to attach of his protected – a reversal of the situation shocking and exciting that we expect see it arrives on the screen.
The film is a shocking story of forbidden love and impossible between two cowboys. Their destinies met one summer when we need to take care of sheep on Brokeback Mountain. Their relationship is a strong, but then their paths diverge after that summer. Each subsequent attempt to start a family, but memories of the passionate period Brokeback Mountain did not give them peace, haunting their existence.
03. Schindler’s List
Of all the stories placed in the time and in the center of Nazism, it impresses with a disturbing parallel between the economic game behind atrocious war and its consequences. By far the best film of Spielberg’s (and the best of all time), “Schindler’s List” achieve perfection in cinematography with a superb acting and with impeccable scenes full of emotion and feelings, and with the soundtrack created with passion and feeling.
02. Sweet November
The fact that a beauty like Charlize Theron is doomed to death, drawn not only stupid and trying to uplift her partner on screen, Keanu Reeves, pluck it from the clutches of fate. An interesting love story. He is a maniac after work, she wanted to live the life fully. Although initially what was doing seemed normal, she got to fall in love in love with him, an event followed by the secret that was revealed.
01. The Notebook
The story based on the novel of Nicholas Sparks, a master of the drama, raises the love to the level of planetary alignment, as tears leaked over epic mating of souls. Without underestimating other films, much better rated, I can say that is the most beautiful and touching romantic drama. A great story, compelling from beginning to end, with many surprises and changes of situation, a great script, great directing and performances as actor.
