10. Bridesmaids
“Bridesmaids” is the kind of Hollywood movie that you did not expect to be part of this top. It is a small comedy featuring a cast of nearly 100% female. But the movie is authentic and funny and pointed out both men and women, occupying the 10th place among the highest grossing movies from the last summer.
09. Captain America: The First Avenger
“Captain America” may have suffered due to invasion of superheroes on the big screen. It came after Thor, Green Lantern and X-Men. But so far is doing pretty well at the box office.
08. X-Men: First Class
X-Men franchise is now large enough to have sequels. In total, X-Men have brought revenue of 1.9 billion dollars for those from Fox. The most recent was the second worst among collections, but the movie (which included a cast of unknowns) only cost 160 million dollars so it would probably be more profitable.
07. Thor
Thor is not the most popular superhero movie. With a hammer as a weapon and a complicated story involving the anger of gods, Thor almost always played the “second” role, without achieving characters as Batman and Superman like. But the movie performed well enough to show that people are still interested of the new heroes.
06. Cars 2
The first “Cars” movie was an oddity of those from Pixar. In 2006, with $460 million revenue, it seemed simply a movie that could go away quietly. But the movie has attracted a great deal. With incomes of $ 476 million, “Cars 2″ is still one of the top productions of Pixar, but it still has a lot to say in box office.
05. The Hangover Part II - 580 million dollars
The movie did not win the critical acclaim, but fans loved him. The movie won $ 110 million more than the original in box office worldwide. Not to be a surprise – Hangover Part III is already in question.
