We present below a list of 10 movies playing poker, more or less, from case to case, and that enter us in the world of game enthusiasts. The order is chronological.
Film that devotes much of poker action. The idea is that the game presented is probably less well known so I could not figure out which would be the ground rules. Presents a confrontation between a young hope of the game and champion with wins to his credit. A game of mind, influenced in a small measure of luck, money and talent, poker reveal the true nature of participants, a game of “strong nerves”, where one who gives up first over the competition, the temptation or trust is considered defeated.
09. The Sting
There is a movie in which is playing too much poker. In fact, one sequence is playing poker (Poker Classic), and finally discovers that the two protagonists have cheated. One better than another, obviously. How did this, maybe in another film. This film is a masterpiece of the genre, a “classic” from which many would have you learn.
08. California Split
It tells the story of two friends, gaming enthusiasts, who does not miss games of blackjack, roulette, to not speak about poker, which has its important role in this production. Basically, their degree of dependence on gambling increased to a point when things take an unexpected turn.
The film shows how dangerous is the passion for gambling. A young man lost a large sum of money in a poker game to a player with experience and that can not afford to pay he loan his fiancee for a weekend for the winner. Less poker, more love. The private detective Jack Singer promised his mother, on the deathbed, that he would not marry again. On the other hand, his girlfriend, Betsy, threatens to dump him if he not decides to ask her in marriage.
06. Maverick
Everything revolves around a great poker player who is participating in a tournament with a fabulous prize. The competition brings together the inspired players, but poker is introduced has little connection with that of reality. Final scene, however, is completely unrealistic in terms of a poker player, but looks good in carrying out the action.
05. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Poker is, in this case, the element that triggers all the madness in the film. Four friends lose a significant amount of money in a poker game organized by a crime boss. Obviously, losing, and having available only a few days to pay, the four young people are reawakening to sold after a game of poker and has to find money fast, otherwise the consequences will be incalculable.
04. Rounders
Almost everything revolves around the poker played on high stakes. What you do if you lose a lot of money at poker, quit for a time in this game, but then you have to go back into the arena? Poker is now quite realistic and shows how the two friends can run at a table with a well put together.
03. Casino Royale
If someone had said five years ago that the next James Bond production will focus around a game of poker, you probably would not have been taken very seriously. However, this game takes much of the film and played poker is not a regular 007, but can kill you if you are not careful.

Here is Charlie Bems, a guy whose suicidal tendencies give motivation to defraud a studio with 100 million dollars. It is a film devoted entirely to poker. A former champion trying to relive past glory with a young man who is training for the world title. Game enthusiasts will discover some interesting tricks and tips.
