Many times the bad guys can be more interesting than the positive. Even the young children prefer in their games to imitate the bad ones, with the risk of being punished ultimately moralizing. That’s because the hero, the pure soul are perceived one-dimensional, predictable and without charisma that attract you ambiguous people.
The fascination exerted by dark characters, made of shadows and light increases as the time passes, their hypnotic power it’s putting in the shadow the other characters. The movie industry was attracted to characters like this, increasing their popularity, especially when actors are very good and the public elected them and identify with the characters.
The list with passionate romantic characters, on the border between good and evil, where love can move mountains will always start with the most wild and interesting character, the dark Heathcliff from the famous novel by Emily Bronte, “Wuthering Heights”.
