The opportunity to watch very many movies about the teachers, the relationship built between them and their students awakened my interest in writing a special article about this subject.
10. School of life
“School of Life” is a drama (combined with some funny moments) made just for television, not well known, although starring Ryan Reynolds, his character is in conflict with that played by David Paymer. Ryan is simple, Mr. D. A history teacher with a different style of teaching, method that conquers students, infected them all with a desire to learn as much and am always waiting for it.
09. Half Nelson
Ryan Gosling in the role of professor, in a film completed in 23 days Handycam style. The result? A captivating story about a history teacher who uses unconventional means, all in an attempt to makes his students to better understand. Passionate spirit, nonconformist, Dan Dunne has its own hidden demons. When a student discovers his problem that he kept it hidden, oddly enough between the two seal a sincere friendship.
Another story inspired by true events, this time in the role of mentor enters Matthew Perry. Students are not teenagers, but a handful of little people in the gymnasium. Ron Clark, an idealistic and enthusiastic teacher, takes the decision to leave the comfort of home and entered in a race to prepare students to one of the most notorious public schools from New York. Quite innovative spirit, enthusiastic Ron Clark leads a fight to win the trust of his students, where adults have failed to be guided.
07. Take the lead
I loved it! Not necessarily because it is a dance movie, not because it is Antonio Banderas in the role of the teacher and not because I am attached to characters. Well, is not a masterpiece and I recognizing, but the determining of the teacher to change the lives of children stigmatized by society. The director James Augustine gives to Pierre Dulaine (Banderas), a professional dancer, a class under detention and where they are some of the most difficult students.
Whole cluster of rave reviews, good subject and excellent performances are elements reinforce the belief that the film deserves appreciation. Laurence Fishburne to add names to distribution? Akeelah, 12 years girl has a not so easy life. Her father is dead, mother ignores her, and her brother is always with the band. An intelligent and mature character, the child is likely to be lost.
05. Klass
Kaspar is a student who decides to defend Joosep, a colleague often teased by the violent colleagues. The decision not to remain without repercussions, so it starts a war for supremacy, an internal war between Kaspar and self-imposed leader of the class.
04. Freedom Writers
Hillary Swank portrays Erin Gruwell, a strong person, a woman who preferred to be a devoted teacher with the risk of losing her husband and family. A true story may be different than moving, especially when the subject evokes problems of adolescents with problems downright shocking.
03. The Class
Filmed as a documentary, “The Class”, offers brutally sensitive moments but keep its realism, though sometimes it may seem overly dramatic. Based on the autobiographical novel signed by Francois Begaudeau (himself in the film), the film known as “Entre les Murs” is a film replica in front of a year as a teacher. It teaches some students at a public school in Paris, in a disreputable neighborhood.
The first production after 1979, which was allowed to be filmed in Harvard campus, “The Great Debaters” received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Movie. The film is a true story of the 30′s and focuses on the work of a professor at a college in the South. Denzel Washington is Melvin B. Tolson, Professor of Olympic team of debate Wiley College.
01. Precious
Disturbing and violent, “Precious” is the film adaptation of the novel “Push” from 1996. Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Paula Patton and Mariah Carey completed distribution of a film telling the story of Clareece Precious, an illiterate and overweight teenager, ignored by family and mocked by classmates. Repeated rape of an abusive father had brought the young woman to give birth to her second child.
