First person shooter games are generally a fast paced game shot directly from the point of view of the main character. Within the past few years there has been a huge influx of these styles of games, and one of the main attractions for gamers is that many of them have online features. Completing missions, fighting battles, and doing covert operations with friends has drawn a huge following of FPS games.
Below is a listing of the top ten first person shooter games that are currently available, and a short excerpt on their unique features.
10 .Call of Duty: World at War
This game does a good job of highlighting some of the other areas that were at war during World War 2, but it is lower on the totem pole here because it just can’t hold up to some of the other games before it. One of the more annoying features is that your allies/enemies will keep respawning until you go forward enough to advance in the game then it resets on you.
09. Gears of War 2
Although this game’s graphics are not as intense nor as realistic, it does allow you to perform some pretty gory actions with a chainsaw gun. Nothing quite as satisfying as piecing up your enemies with blood gushing out everywhere.
08. MAG
Despite being a unique game on an alien world, the character selection is somewhat frustrating. You unfortunately can’t change it once its chosen unless you delete that entire character and start all over again.
07. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Not near as good as the second version but it still has most of the awesome features that Call of Duty fans love. The realistic graphics, bullet punctures, and battle scenes continue to keep fans hooked.
06. Crysis 2
The game itself is simply amazing with unreal graphics, however the biggest downside is the fact that you need a good graphics card to be able to handle it else the game is ruined.
05. Halo 3
A great game that has a lot of loyal followers. While it doesn’t have any of the bloodshed and realistic combat as some of the higher ranked games, it does offer a lot of maps, weapons, and a unique foe to battle against.
This game ensure that the user not only uses their shooting skills to get out of sticky situations, but uses their skill as well. Unfortunately the story line lacks a bit and ensures this game a solid forth place.
03. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
An excellent FPS game that has all of the great features of the other Call of Duty games, and also allows you to choose the type of character you want to play. On top of that a map pack was released later offering more areas available to the eagerly awaiting crowd of gamers.
02. Medal of Honor
On top of the excellent graphics and incredibly realistic bullet penetration, there are a variety of game types you can choose from, each with new and unique features. A few downsides which pull it from the top ranked spot, most notably the grenade features.

This game takes place during the cold war and you are able to utilize the unique weapons that were available during that time. The incredibly realistic features make this game stand out above all others, but it beats its runner up by a smidgin.
