American Pickers is a well known television show that is based on two guys traveling about America searching for antiques and collectables….or basically anything they can make some money on. They have a contact who calls them up and sends them to different places throughout the country when they get a lead on some good finds. They then travel to that destination and try to barter with the owner for the items (although sometimes they meet a difficult person and are not able to purchase anything).
This show is incredibly interesting not only because you get to learn more about history and different items, but you can see the various people that the two pickers meet and most of the time they are interesting characters. The picks

1. Storage Wars – Here you can watch professional buyers bid on abandoned storage units. Anything can be held within these units, from the worlds greatest treasures to the smelliest trash, and anything in between. Due to the competition there is often plenty of drama between the buyers as they are aware of how valuable these lockers can be.
2. Hardcore Pawn – Detroit is a rough place, however the people at this pawn shop run a tight shift. Dealing with the locals can mean a lot of problems but it can also mean a lot of unique and interesting items brought in. Often times many of the locals will have a very strong opinion on certain things (especially how much money they are ‘owed’) and many times you will see them escorted out by some of the body guards that are employed at the shop.
3. Pawn Stars – Here people travel from all across the state to bring the guys at Pawn Stars their treasures. You can see some truly unique items here and some of them are incredible important pieces of history.
